Addison Products Company, founded in 1949 in Michigan, began by manufacturing refrigerant systems before shifting to residential air conditioning in 1952. Addison pioneered the “split system” design, revolutionizing home cooling. In the 1960s, it expanded into heat pump technology through the acquisition of WeatherKing and introduced the first Dedicated Outdoor Air System. After selling its Michigan plants in 1990, Addison focused on commercial comfort products, establishing a state-of-the-art facility in Orlando. Now part of Madison Industries, Addison continues its legacy of innovation in energy-efficient comfort systems.

The Airtemp brand is the result of the air conditioning system designed for the Art Deco style Chrysler building in New York City. When completed in 1930, the skyscraper was the world’s tallest building. Four years later, with their acquired climate conditioning expertise, Airtemp Corporation was born. Over the decades that followed, Airtemp cooling and heating products earned a justifiable position of industry leadership.

Armstrong Air – In 1928, Lennox Furnace Company—one of America’s leading manufacturing interests—created Armstrong Furnace in Columbus, Ohio. Fujitsu – Fujitsu General has been in the air conditioner business since 1960, when we introduced our first-generation window-mounted cooler for home in Japan. In 1971, we started marketing air conditioners in Kuwait, where outdoor temperature tops 50℃ (122℉) during the day and a cloud of dust looms over towns. In this challenging environment, our air conditioners performed as they should have and established the brand in this Middle Eastern country.

Payne – Payne Heating & Cooling began in 1914 when D.W. Payne and his son began building gravity-type furnaces in a converted barn in Los Angeles. Carrier Corporation formed the BDP Company in 1974, where Payne became the “P” in BDP.
